Who is the G Pen Elite Vaporizer for?

The G Pen Elite portable vaporizer was the first major success for Grenco Science. The first portable vaporizers, G Pen and G Pro, lagged significantly behind industry leaders in vapor quality, but with the release of the G Pen Elite, critics started taking Grenco seriously, acknowledging its place in the mid-range price segment. Today, G Pen has more advanced models in its lineup, but this iconic vaporizer remains a fan favorite—not just for nostalgia but also for its real advantages.

American company Grenco Science, founded in 2012, originally didn’t aim for fame and was content with being a modest hobby project. The founder of the aromatic business, Chris Folkerts, and his partner Anthony Marino, wanted to create vaporizers that they and their friends would love—lightweight, compact, and powerful, capable of quick heating and enduring long sessions.

Their grand plans didn’t come to fruition immediately. The first session vaporizer, G Pro Herbal, released in 2014, didn’t allow full heating control; vapor quality was mediocre due to impurities and insufficient cooling. Fortunately, the portable vaporizer market was still in its infancy at the time, so G Pro didn’t have to fear much competition. Users had little to compare it with besides basic pipes or water bongs, making G Pro relatively popular.

The restyled version of G Pen Pro impressed users with its sleek design and the ability to discreetly consume herbs—the device fit entirely in the palm of the hand and resembled an electronic cigarette. Additionally, it heated up faster, but that’s where the innovations stopped. Vapor quality was still questionable since some structural elements, including the mouthpiece, were made from unstable PBT plastic. If a session lasted too long, the vapor from the plant mixed with a heavy heated plastic smell, leaving an unpleasant burnt popcorn aftertaste.
